An emotional Vince told the crowd of industry and media members, “It’s been a pretty amazing journey since I learned to play ‘Wildwood Flower’ on the guitar. This matters so very much. I’m so blessed to be able to do this.” To date, Vince has earned 18 CMA awards along with 18 Grammy awards, the most of any male country artist. Mel Tillis has been a major force in country music since the 1960s, for his talents as a songwriter, singer and actor. He won the CMA Entertainer of the Year award in 1976. Ralph Emery is one of the most popular figures in country music broadcasting, both in radio and television. He hosted TNN’s weeknight program Nashville Now from 1983 to 1993, and introduced many of today’s current stars to a national audience. Ralph was also named Country Disc Jockey of the Year six times.
