Few details are available, but there have been reports that overnight storms and high winds caused her tour bus to crash into a guard rail and embankment around 2:20 a.m. on I-44 in Missouri. She was reportedly traveling from Springfield to Texas when the accident occurred. Dottie Rambo was a prolific writer and singer whose hits include “We Shall Behold Him” and “Sheltered in the Arms of God.” Ironically, she was slated to release a new album this summer titled Sheltered, featuring a duet on “Sheltered in the Arms of God” with Porter Wagoner. Several of Dottie’s songs were recorded by such country artists as Dolly Parton and Barbara Mandrell. In 2007, Barbara inducted Dottie into the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame.
