On hand for the festivities were top Music Row songwriter Jeffrey Steele, Steve Wariner and baseball's all-time home run king Barry Bonds, a friend of Jennifer Adan and her family. Before the party, Blake met with members of the Nashville media and spoke about the song, which is his fifth No. 1 hit. Blake noted that he was attracted to "She Wouldn't Be Gone" because of its theme of regret. "I have always said that I like singing songs about regret. I can just relate to that so much," Blake explained. "It's easy to dump all those emotions into it." Blake added, "I've been lucky enough to get my hands on a couple of great songs, and that's been my saving grace all along." Blake was also presented with a gold record for his album Pure BS.
