Clint’s niece, Courtney, died from the neurological disorder in 2003 at age 16. “At this pivotal time, I am honored to serve as chair of this important campaign to help accelerate treatments and a cure of Rett syndrome,” Clint says. “My family has experienced firsthand the devastation caused by this neurological disorder, and I am eager to support the exciting research on the horizon that can help reverse Rett syndrome.” Clint will host a kick-off concert and golf tournament for the campaign in The Woodlands, Texas, on Nov. 1 and 2. The foundation hopes to raise at least $3 million with the campaign. Rett syndrome is a brain disorder that affects development in childhood and appears almost exclusively in females. Clint previously brought attention to the cause during his stint as a cast member on TV’s The Celebrity Appearance.
