Jimmy's relationship with the Salvation Army started with his own childhood in North Carolina. "Christmas, as far back as I can remember, has always been a sad time, for me," Jimmy says softly. "We didn't get presents because our mom was a single parent, and she had a tough time. She'd have to go to the Salvation Army where they had those angel trees and sign us up. Some years we'd get picked and other years we didn't, so there were a lot of Christmases that went by that we didn't get much or even anything at all. It was tough." Now, Jimmy wants to assure that other children will not have to suffer the same experience. "I can now look back on those years and am very thankful for them because it allows me to bring awareness to the program," says Jimmy, who penned a song for the program titled "Paper Angels." Jimmy is encouraging fans to also lend a helping hand. For more information on the Salvation Army's Angel Tree Program, visit salvationarmyusa.org.
