Hope you’re doing great and feeling well. Just wanted to get a quick update on where you are – the city or town you are currently in. How far have you traveled in the space of about three weeks?
I'm just outside of West Memphis close to Earl, Ark. The past 3 weeks have been steady with the exception of one stop; I had a show in Abilene, Texas.
When you pass through a town, are you finding that local media (radio stations, newspapers, etc.) are becoming more interested in what you are doing? Have they promised to help or make donations?
I assumed from the very beginning of this trek that people would be very excited at the beginning but then become less interested as time progressed. To my surprise, people including media and fans have only become more interested.
Are fans continuing to offer support, a place to sleep, inviting you in for a meal, those types of things? Any more stories you can share? And what are some of the stranger reactions you have gotten from people you have met?
People have continued to give me supplies along the way. However, less hospitality in the city verses the rural areas. I continue to hear different stories. Some people praise me for what I'm doing while others blame me for not showing up earlier. Some give me coffee while others give me stares. Some want to know why I'm walking through their neighborhood while others offer me a place to stay for the night in their home. Some wave; some laugh. Some call me a hero while some call me names you can't print in this magazine. Tweeting has never been this entertaining to me!
