Carrie Underwood is the first North American celebrity ambassador for Olay Skin Care.
The newlywed and co-host for the upcoming Country Music Association Awards will appear in print and television ads for Olay’s Challenge What’s Possible campaign, which will debut later this year.
"I’ve always loved makeup," said the singer, who was dressed in a white satin dress with her hair pulled back in an understated, elegant bun for a press conference in New York. "I’m a total makeup junkie, [but] I feel like actually taking care of my skin didn’t become a focus until I got older."
"My early 20s became a definite focus on my face and my skin. I wanted to make myself feel and look good for as long as possible. I just want to do it as naturally as possible. I’m happy because now I get to totally indulge," she said with an excited giggle.
Carrie also revealed her own skincare secrets, along with her favorite Olay skin care products. "There’s nothing that beats good cleansing and moisturizer. It doesn’t have to be complicated. You don’t have to have 50 things."
She names Olay’s Total Effects line as a personal favorite that she’s used since her days at college. "It’s good and doesn’t look funky underneath my makeup. And then the cleansing cloths. It's really hard to find makeup remover that doesn’t burn your eyes. It takes all the gunk that I’ve managed to put on my face for concerts off. Those are my two staples."
