Garth Brooks announced on Oct. 28 he'd do a concert to benefit those affected by Nashville's May flooding. Guess what? One concert turned into nine.
It took Garth all of three hours Saturday (Nov. 6) to virtually sell out nine shows at Bridgestone Arena, raising more than $3.5 million dollars for flood relief, according to The Tennessean .
Garth sold more than 140,000 tickets, the most ever sold by any performer in Tennessee, according to his publicist.
A few of the affordably priced $25 tickets, mostly behind the stage, remained at press time.
All proceeds from the events will benefit the Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee, which in turn funnels funds to those in need.
Garth will perform at the Bridgestone Arena on Thursday, Dec. 16, at 7 and 10 p.m.; Friday, Dec. 17, at 7 p.m.; Sunday, Dec. 19, at 7:30 p.m.; Monday, Dec. 20, at 7:30 p.m.; Tuesday, Dec. 21, at 6 and 9 p.m.; and Wednesday, Dec. 22, at 6 and 9 p.m.
