Pam Tillis is going to be cooking up a storm for Country Weekly readers in a new food-and-recipe column called Pam & Co., which kicks off in the Nov. 22 issue. Once a month, Pam will share some of her favorite recipes and show you how to make healthy dishes for your family, right in your own home.
Pam, who won the 1994 Country Music Association Female Vocalist of the Year award, is just as passionate about cooking as she is about performing. Her dad, Country Music Hall of Fame member Mel Tillis, is a fine chef himself who has authored his own cookbook.
"My whole family loves to cook," says Pam, "and one of the things that is kind of my birthright is a certain kind of fearlessness. And what I would like to share with people in my column is to not be afraid of cooking. Just go for it! Don't be afraid to make mistakes."
Pam also explains that she'll be sharing recipes that she has acquired through the years, along with her own originals. "But what I want to do is make them accessible for the average person," she says. "I also want to make the dishes health-conscious. I think that's very important. This is my maiden voyage as a columnist," she adds, "but I think it's going to be great fun. I'm excited to be working with Country Weekly."
