The Doobie Brothers—with two original members left—start a 40th anniversary tour later this year.
And after 40 years, the legendary rock band is going country? Indeed, the title track to the band’s new album, World Gone Crazy, will ship to country radio this week.
And another cut on the album, “I Know We Won,” features a guest performance from Willie Nelson. The irony of the Doobies-go-country story is that longtime member Michael McDonald—who has lived in Nashville for a couple of decades—isn’t part of the band.
Still, the rest of the group is set to play the Grand Ole Opry Saturday (Feb. 26).
