Reba McEntire's new situation comedy, Reba, premieres Sept. 14 at 9 p.m. ET/PT on the WB Network. McEntire plays a Texas mother of three whose white-picket-fenced world is collapsing all around her: Her dentist husband of 20 years has run off with his pregnant dental hygienist, her 17-year-old daughter is pregnant by the high-school football star, and she's juggling the raging hormones of a 12-year-old daughter and the behavior of a 9-year-old son. The quirky sitcom plunges McEntire into strong issues facing today's American family. "When I was growing up, country music used to be about singing in bars and drinking and leaving and cheating," she explains. "Now it's dealing more with social issues, and I think that I've sung about all of them. So it's not going to be new territory for me."
