Faith Hill showed her support for American's military by performing for soldiers at Fort Bragg, N.C. "These are the men and women who are protecting our country," explained Faith. "As an American, IâÂÂm very supportive and proud of our soldiers."
Faith sang for about 7,000 soldiers, airmen and families â many facing possible deployment to Iraq â as ABC's Good Morning America broadcast part of the show live and hubby Tim McGraw and daughter Audrey watched from the side of the stage. Fans had lined up as early as 4 a.m. in below-freezing temperatures. "You teach us to be stronger," she told them. "You remind us, every second, as we watch these things unfold, to be strong."
Faith originally suggested putting on a Fort Bragg performance because the husband of her childhood friend Gaye Knight is stationed there. "We've kept in contact, and we link up as much as we can," said Gaye. "If people could see how she is behind the scenes, what you see is what you get. She's a good-hearted, all-American girl."
"I felt sadness and exhilaration," said Faith after her time in front of the troops. "I had one hell of a time."
