You might find this hard to believe, but I was the class clown as a kid [grins]. And I wasn't a very good student. My mind was in the clouds. I wanted to make music.
I was born April 26, 1971, in Columbus, Ohio, and from the very earliest memories I have, I loved, breathed and ate music. While everyone else was out playin' in the yard, I'd be in my room . . . practicin', listenin' to music. But, considering the family I was born into, it would've been surprising if I hadn't loved music. My mom, Caron, was Country Music Queen of Ohio in 1969. And she actually won a record deal with Decca Records in that contest, but didn't take it because she wanted to stay in Columbus with my father.
