Here, Ronnie talks about his upcoming new CD, which will feature “Hey, Mr. Oilman.” A huge fan of the great Elvis Presley, Ronnie also discusses his successful painting, Reflections of a King, a rendering of the young Elvis looking at a reflection of the future. Fans can purchase a copy of the painting through Ronnie’s website, ronniemcdowell.com .
“One of the songs on the new album is that old hit, ‘Oh, How Happy.’ Willie Nelson, John Anderson, T. Graham Brown and about 15 artists in all are on the song,” Ronnie says. “We all sing one line, and the Oak Ridge Boys do the chorus. I swear it’s a smash hit—if we can get it played.” Another selection is “I Wish I Could Paint the Way I Feel,” inspired by a neighbor of Ronnie’s who actually spoke those words. “I think it’s the best song I’ve ever written,” he says.
