Who’s Gonna Fill Their Legendary Shoes?
Country music is overflowing with “nice guys” and always has been, but few take it to the level that Jake Owen has. In addition to a charity concert in his hometown that he hosts, Jake has invited fans out on his boat at the lake, into the recording studio and even to a movie with him and wife Lacey (tickets were on him). Not unlike the great George Jones, who invited fans to his home every Christmas until 2010 to enjoy his festive lights while also collecting toys for area children. But kindness and philanthropy are only one aspect of Jake’s success. Also like Jones, Jake’s music easily dances from big waltzy country numbers like “Don’t Think I Can’t Love You” to rockin’ honky-tonkers like “Eight Second Ride,” making him one of country’s most versatile young artists.
