Who’s Gonna Fill Their Legendary Shoes?
A quick look over Miranda Lambert’s impressive career to date should yield some convincing proof that she’s playing the long game like Loretta. Unlike many of her contemporaries, Ran didn’t have her first, second or even third single hit the top of the charts; instead she garnered moderate success with individualistic offerings like “Kerosene” and “Gunpowder & Lead” while building a following with her electrifying live shows. Somebody noticed, because she and hubby Blake have been bogarting the CMA and ACM awards for the last three years and counting. With tunes like “White Liar” and “The House That Built Me”—which capture the complexity of Miranda’s personality—the radio hits started coming, and she didn’t have to alter her singular artistic vision one bit.
