Jason Aldean Rocks Sold-Out NYC Concert
Forget anything you've ever heard about New Yorkers being stuffy or country music not being welcomed in the North. Jason Aldean smacked all of those stereotypes down when his 2013 Night Train Tour played New York's historic Madison Square Garden on Saturday. The show, his first time at the legendary venue, sold out in seven minutes, proving that country music truly is country wide.
But the hilarious Jason pointed out, "I was feeling pretty good about myself having my first show there sold out, and then I walk into the arena and I look up and there’s a banner that says 'Elton John 62.' And I said, 'What does that mean?' Well, apparently he’s sold out 62 shows there."
It doesn't sound like this will be his last time to visit the Big Apple either. After such an overwhelming reception, he says, "It speaks volumes for the city itself, but also for how many country music fans are there. And it kind of opened my eyes to the fact that maybe that’s something we need to take a harder look at and go back there a little more. Especially now that they have a country radio station there."
