March 17, 2014 NASH Magazine – Inside the World of Jake Owen

Jake Owen explains why he's taking on a different role in his new video, “Beachin’,” and how baby daughter Pearl lights up his life in the cover story of NASH Magazine, inside Country Weekly’s March 17 issue. In the “Beachin’” clip, Jake plays the part of a wandering storyteller, generally seen in the foreground. In previous videos, Jake was the guy who got the girl, but that’s all changed since he became a married man.

“Before I was married, I was always with the girl [in videos],” Jake tells NASH. “But people know now that I’m married and have a daughter.” And it’s baby daughter Pearl who makes life complete for Jake. She’s starting to miss her dad when he heads out on the road. “She starts crying when I leave the house,” Jake says. “She goes, ‘Bye-bye, Daddy,’ and that makes you not want to leave.” Jake adds that Pearl has the winning combination of his fearlessness and his mother’s sweetness.

Also, in this week’s NASH Q&A, you’ll find out some of Billy Currington’s favorite things. And you’ll spend an exciting day with Scotty McCreery in Nashville as he gets ready to make his Ryman Auditorium debut.
