July 25, 2011 – Keith Urban: Up Close & Getting Personal

July 25, 2011

Keith Urban talks about his recently-launched Get Closer World Tour, family and other topics in this exclusive cover story. Keith notes that his stage setup for the current tour allows him to truly get closer with the fans in the seats.

“I’m constantly trying to keep the barriers broken down between us and the audience, so that it just becomes us,” he tells Country Weekly. “I like to present the stage as something unusual, a bit surreal, and make it a magical place for everybody.” Keith adds that he plans to include two hours of hits at each show along with cuts from his Get Closer album, including the No. 1 single “Without You.”

Keith also reveals that he keeps his tour dates spread out so as not to be away from home for long stretches. “I feel the pull very strongly,” Keith says. “When I’ve just left the house, I can feel the pull. It’s a beautiful pain.”
