January 30, 2012 – All About Dolly

Dolly Parton landed a movie role that’s right up her alley. She plays a high-spirited choir singer in a small Southern town in the new comedy Joyful Noise. This marks her first theatrical movie in 20 years and she took the role because of the character.

“I only take parts that I can do that are close to my personality because I don’t know if I could play anything outside of my basic personality,” Dolly explains. Dolly adds that the dancing she was required to perform proved the toughest challenge. “I was more nervous about that than anything,” she says.
