George Strait took Country Weekly along for the ride to take in the sights and sounds of the annual George Strait Team Roping Classic, March 14 and 15, in San Antonio. It’s the largest open team roping event in the U.S. and draws competitors from such faraway states as Minnesota and California.

George hosts the annual event, which he and his brother, Buddy, started in 1982, and also gives away the grand prizes at the closing ceremony. Get an up-close look at all the action and excitement in this special cover section.
