Turn your TV to any channel these days and you’re bound to see a country star—and not necessarily on the stage.

Artists such as Keith Urban, Blake Shelton and Trace Adkins are branching out into the world of reality TV, adding to their already high popularity factor. In this special cover story, CW looks at some of the stars who are increasing their visibility through television, and why country acts seem to be in such high demand.

Plus, we look back at a few shows from the past that launched several careers, including Star Search and Nashville Star.
