And then there were eight. Zac Brown Band has added a new member to the family prior to hitting the road for their Great American Road Trip Tour in May. Bassist Matt Mangano joins the band just in time for the summer concert run, which has sold out back-to-back shows at Boston’s Fenway Park. This isn’t Matt’s first time to play with the award-winning group. He has been a guest performer with the boys over the years and played in the studio on The Grohl Sessions, Vol. 1 and Uncaged.

ZBB recently released its new single, “All Alright,” from The Grohl Sessions, Vol. 1.

In addition, the band’s longtime bassist, John Driskell Hopkins, will continue to add his vocals and bass lines to the mix, but also show off his multi-instrumental prowess on guitar, baritone guitar, ukulele, upright bass and banjo.

“We’re always growing as musicians and challenging ourselves to bring new things to our fans,” Zac said in a release. “Hop is an amazing talent and I can’t wait for people to see what we’ve got coming for the live show.”

The Zac Brown Band consists of singer/guitarist Zac Brown, violinist/singer Jimmy De Martini, multi-instrumentalist/singer John Driskell Hopkins, guitarist/organist Coy Bowles, multi-instrumentalist/singer Clay Cook, drummer Chris Fryar, percussionist Daniel de los Reyes and bassist Matt Mangano.

The Great American Road Trip Tour kicks off May 24 in Lincoln, Neb., and currently is set to wrap Aug. 15 in Endicott, N.Y. Kacey Musgraves will join up with the band on four dates. For details, visit the Zac Brown Band website or check the list of dates below.
