Willie’s Throwdown Tour Wraps July 4

Country Weekly to sponsor tour

Willie Nelson’s Country Throwdown Tour 2011, which kicks off May 27 in Philadelphia, will end on a familiar date for Willie and his fans.

The tour will wrap with Willie’s annual 4th of July Picnic, now being billed as Willie Nelson’s 4th of July Picnic & Throwdown. The long-standing holiday tradition will break new ground as it will be held inside and outside the famed Billy Bob's Texas club in Fort Worth.

Joining Willie on the Throwdown Tour this year are Jamey Johnson, Randy Houser, Lee Brice, Jack Ingram, Craig Campbell, (Willie’s son) Lukas Nelson & Promise of the Real and rising new artist Drake White.

The July 4 show will also feature many of the regulars who traditionally appear on Willie’s 4th of July Picnic, including Ray Price and David Allan Coe.

Country Weekly has signed on as an official sponsor of the Country Throwdown Tour and will produce the souvenir program booklet.
