Willie Nelson Cancels Show Because of “Breathing Problems”

TV station reports backup singers arrived at the venue, but the country star never made it.

Willie Nelson didn't show up for a fundraiser in the Denver area Saturday (Aug. 18), TV station KUSA reported.

The fans gathered at Castle Pines Village were told that Willie, 79, was "suffering from breathing problems due to the high altitude and emphysema" and taken to a near by hospital.

No condition was available as of Monday morning.

Looks like the decision to cancel was made last minute: The TV station reports that Willie's backup singers did arrive at the venue, but he didn't.

Willie is scheduled for a show Tuesday (Aug. 21) in Dallas.
