Every Monday night, Nashville’s Winners Bar is the hottest spot in town as Josh Hoge and Ward Guenther host Whiskey Jam—a night of great music and cold . . . well . . . whiskey. But this year, they’ve been taking it out back with a jacked-up version of the Jam that fills the parking lot of neighboring Losers Bar. And Monday night (June 2), they made it an unofficial kick-off for CMA Music Festival!

The crowd was elbow to elbow, unless glasses, bottles and cans were raised high, as 11 acts performed abbreviated sets as the sun lowered and the air cooled. And the audience was in excellent voice, singing along with Blackjack Billy on “Booze Cruise” and Stoney LaRue on “Oklahoma Breakdown,” and all but outsinging Brothers Osborne on their new hit single, “Rum.”

No date has been announced for the next Whiskey Jam parking lot party, but you can count on another Jam with another great lineup of writers, artists and musicians Monday night at Winners.
