Wanted: Underdog

Stokes Nielson is looking for normal people doing extraordinary things.

Stokes Nielson of The Lost Trailers needs your help.

The group, best known for the Top 10 hit “Holler Back,” will release a new single, “Underdog,” this fall. The song, says Stokes, “is about normal people doing extraordinary things when they are put in extraordinary circumstances.”

That’s where you come in. “We’re shooting a documentary called Underdog Americans,” Stokes explains. “If you know someone who you believe is extraordinary, I would love to know their story. Within the struggles of life there are many beautiful things and we want to spotlight them.”

Last year, Stokes was alerted to the story of 9-year-old Jordan Beland, who was born with a heart defect. At 5 weeks old he underwent surgery and now he lives a normal life, even playing football. “Ninety-nine percent of the people with this defect don’t even survive,” Stokes explains, “much less go on to live normal lives.”

To share the story of someone who beat the odds, call the Underdog Hotline at 707-94-UNDERDOG (86337) or go to underdogsong.com.

Who knows? You might be part of the documentary.
