The Voice Gets Four Emmy Nominations

And that includes one for best reality competition program—where American Idol is absent.

For those keeping track of The Voice vs. American Idol, it's 1-1 on major Emmy nominations—but The Voice wins for total Emmy nominations, 4-3.

The Voice captured a nom for best reality competition show, a category that didn't include Idol.

But Idol host Ryan Seacrest got one for best reality show host, where The Voice host Carson Daly was shut out.

The Voice is up against The Amazing Race, Dancing WIth the Stars, Project Runway, So You Think You Can Dance and
Top Chef for best reality competition show.

The Voice also got three technical and/or behind-the-scenes noms, which were announced Thursday morning (July 29).

Blake Shelton's reaction: "I'd like to thank Ms. Emmy for her support . . . [expletive] yeah!!"

Meanwhile, another show with country ties, ACM Presents: Lionel Richie & Friends—In Concert, was nominated in Sound Mixing for a Variety Series or Special.
