Vince Gets His Star in 2012

He'll join others at Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony.

Vince Gill will add to his long list of accomplishments when he receives one of entertainment’s top accolades, a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, in 2012. Vince will join such fellow honorees as actresses Jennifer Aniston, Jennifer Lopez and Scarlett Johansson, late actor Richard Burton, late R&B legend Barry White and composers David Foster and Hal David. This will mark the second Hollywood Walk of Fame star for Vince’s family, as his wife, Amy Grant, received the honor in 2006.

Vince lived in Los Angeles from 1976 to 1983 and called it “one of the best times of my life” in a released statement. “When I lived out there, I was such a young person that I hadn’t really accomplished much of anything,” he went on to say. “So even the thought of one day having a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame was preposterous.”

Vince also recalled that he began writing songs while living in Los Angeles. To date, Vince has received 18 Country Music Association awards and 20 Grammy awards. He has also been inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame.

Other country artists who have received Hollywood Walk of Fame stars include Roy Acuff, Alan Jackson, Reba McEntire, Randy Travis, Brooks & Dunn, Dolly Parton, Tim McGraw and the latest honoree, Shania Twain, who was enshrined this year.
