Video: Dolly Parton Visits the “Today” show and Talks Dollywood, “9 to 5”

The venerable Dolly Parton was a guest on the Today show today (March 21) to help promote Fire Chaser Express, the new roller coaster at her Dollywood Theme Park in Pigeon Forge, Tenn., now in its 29th season.

“It’s a wonderful ride and its tailor-made for families so the little kids can ride along with their parents and their little brothers and sisters,” said Dolly via satellite.

The new ride, which has a firefighter theme, is distinct among coasters because it’s one of the few that features a portion of the ride in reverse as well as forward.

Additionally, Dolly will play the Today show plaza May 13, when her album Blue Smoke is released in the United States. She’s already been touring behind the project in Australia and New Zealand.

When asked about the rumored possibility of a reunion with her 9 to 5 co-stars Lily Tomlin and Jane Fonda, Dolly seemed a little confused by the question.

“I don’t know exactly what you’re talking about, but whatever they’re doing, I’m in,” she replied. “Whatever it is, we better get to it quick or it’ll be 95 instead of 9 to 5.”
