When the second season of GAC’s reality series Farm Kings premieres tonight (April 11) at 9 p.m. ET, the King brothers—and sister Elizabeth—won’t be out in the fields or the barn, they’ll be on their mom Lisa’s couch watching themselves on TV.

“We’re all heading over my mom’s house. It’s become a tradition now,” says long-haired brother Pete King. “We celebrate a little bit and get together to watch the season premiere.”

A surprise hit for GAC when Farm Kings debuted last year, this season finds the family further expanding their chicken farming and branching out into cattle and pigs as well on their Freedom Farms in Butler, Pa.

“We’re adding the meat, the poultry, the pork, the beef to our operation,” says Pete, who is happy that production for season two began in March, and not before the busy harvest, as last season did. “That makes it less stressful to shoot.”

So what did Pete and his bros, some of whom visited Nashville last year for the CMA Music Festival, think of the Ram Trucks “So God Made a Farmer” ad that aired during the Super Bowl?

“That’s a beautiful commercial. It brings a tear to your eye,” he says. “People who take care of the ground, we make it work.”
