TRICK PONY'S AWARD A BRIGHT SPOT

Trick Pony's Heidi Newfield says their CMA nomination for Vocal Group of the Year is one of the positive events in a very tough year for the band. "This year, 2004, has been kind of a huge, transitional year for us," said Heidi. "So for the CMA's, which really to me is the most traditional of the two award shows, for them to include us and kind of pat us on the back and give us a nomination is a really, really special thing this year to be playing the game. It's been a bit of an emotional roller coaster this year. I Iost my mother this year, I got married, moving, record label change... I lost my dog, I mean that's bad! So when you add it all up and then consider the good things that have happened...one of the bright, shining things of 2004 was to be nominated." As for their chances of winning, Ira Dean joked with X Radio Networks, "We have about as much chance of winning as Florence Henderson winning the Horizon award!"
