Tracy and Friends Cook for the Homeless

Tracy Lawrence and several of his artist friends will be frying turkeys for homeless men, women and children at the Nashville Rescue Mission, Monday, Nov. 19.

This marks the second annual Tracy Lawrence Mission Possible special Thanksgiving event, designed to create awareness of the Nashville Rescue Mission and the ongoing need for community support. Helping Tracy fry around 400 turkeys are Jason Aldean, Darryl Worley, Wade Hayes and Brad Arnold of the rock group 3 Doors Down. “Last year, we started with a goal of 100 birds, and we ended up frying 235,” says Tracy. “We’re planning to break last year’s record and go for 400 birds. The folks at the Mission tell me that 400 turkeys will translate to approximately 6,500 meals.” In addition, Tracy and friends will be giving away 400 smoked turkey legs (while they last) to anyone who stops by the Mission and makes a donation. The Nashville Rescue Mission is located at 639 Lafayette St. in downtown Nashville.
