The Pentagon Channel caught up with Trace Adkins for an episode of Command Performance, which will air this week.

Trace has long had a relationship with the military and often performs for troops, here and overseas.

“You know, I figure I can protect my family within the confines of my own yard. Outside of that, I need help,” Trace explains. “So I try to show my gratitude and respect. I don't do the heavy lifting, but I get to go over where you're deployed and sing some songs—I get a lot of satisfaction from doing that.”
