Trace Has Bromance With Matthew McConaughey

Trace Adkins has started a full-on bromance with hunk actor Matthew McConaughey.

First off, Trace name-checks Matthew in a song from his new album, Cowboy’s Back in Town, coming out Aug. 17. Trace sings McConaughey’s name in a song called “Hell, I Can Do That.”

Trace delivered a copy to the movie star himself at the ACM Awards, where McConaughey was a presenter.

“So I gave it to him, and I said, ‘Listen to this song. You gotta listen all the way to the end, though,’” Trace tells GAC. “ I didn’t want him to get halfway through it and say, ‘Oh, this is country bulls…’ and turn it off.”

And now, Trace is gonna be in the next McConaughey movie, called The Lincoln Lawyer. Trace plays the leader of a motorcycle gang, a role he’s shooting soon.

“It’s not a stretch,” Trace says.
