Trace Adkins Returns to Host American Country Awards With New Sidekick

Driver Danica Patrick will join Trace.

He has a razor-sharp wit, but can Trace Adkins go toe-to-toe with NASCAR’s Danica Patrick? We’re about to find out!

In a press release, the unlikely pair was named as hosts for the 2013 American Country Awards, which airs live from Las Vegas Dec. 10 on FOX. This marks Trace’s fourth time and Danica’s first to play host, but she’s got a track record of being a fast learner.

“I can’t wait to see if I have what it takes to keep up with this racing superstar,” said Trace. Danica has faith in her country music friend, though.

“I have no doubt he’ll be able to keep up with me,” she says. “I’ve become a huge fan of country music since I came to NASCAR and have been fortunate to be in videos with Miranda Lambert and Colt Ford. This is going to be a really cool experience and I’m excited to be a part of it. It’s going to be a great show!”

Danica steps into the spot vacated by the 2011 and 2012 co-host, Kristen Chenoweth.

The American Country Awards lets fans’ voices be heard as they vote for their favorite artists in a variety of categories. Presenters and performers are expected to be announced in the coming days.
