As the debate swirls around the documentary Blackfish and its questions about SeaWorld’s treatment of orca whales, musicians are trying to steer clear.

Now Trace Adkins is the latest artist to pull out of a scheduled performance at the theme park in Orlando, Fla. Trace was slated to play the Bands, Brew & BBQ event on March 2 but just announced his withdrawal.

“Trace prefers that the focus of his performances be on music, not on controversy,” said a representative for Trace. “Therefore, he has decided not to proceed with this show in the midst of this debate.”

Previously, Martina McBride, Trisha Yearwood, Willie Nelson and others have canceled their appearances at SeaWorld.
