Trace Adkins Interview Has Jimmy Fallon in Stitches

Trace Adkins is turning into one sassy TV talk show guest.

You might recall last week (May 15) he told Today co-hosts Kathie Lee Gifford and Hoda Kotb, “You're both always drunk.”

Trace kept it going Monday night (May 21) on Late Night With Jimmy Fallon, just one night after winning Donald Trump’s all-star season of Celebrity Apprentice by beating Las Vegas magician Penn Jillette.

Within a minute, Trace—who appeared with Penn on Jimmy’s show—had called the magician “that a--hole.” And that had Jimmy Fallon laughing so hard that Jimmy was bent over slapping his desk.

Trace came on wearing a Jimmy Fallon T-shirt, explaning that he had to change at the last minute.

“I had on my black Western shirt with the sleeves cut off and that a--hole,” he said, jerking a thumb toward Penn, “he made fun of me.”

Moments later, Trace made fun of the show’s drummer, Questlove, for what Trace said was a lackluster performance.

“I’ve never seen the drummer do that with less enthusiasm,” Trace said. “This guy is bored with his gig, man.”

Oh yeah, the two also chatted about their time on Celebrity Apprentice, continuing to praise each other as competitors.

In fact, Penn said he told producers, “Two of us will take on any 10 people they want.”

Hey, we’d watch it.

For more on Trace, his new album and his Celebrity Apprentice experience pick up the June 3 issue of Country Weekly, on stands Friday, May 24.
