TRACE ADKINS GOES "CHROME"

Trace Adkins titled his new album "Chrome," which is also the title of the first track, because he thought it would be funny.

"I just thought it was funny," he says. "I thought, 'If the album doesn't go gold or platinum, it would just be chrome.' "

He tried to get the record company to agree to keep his picture off of the CD cover, but they wouldn't have it. "I said, 'I just want you to put it out with the front and back cover of it just chrome -- no pictures, none of that stuff. Just make it chrome and put my name in little letters on the side so people will know which album it is," he said.

However, they would have none of that -- Adkins' picture is featured prominently on the CD cover. "They don't ever listen to me," he said. "They went and put my old mug on the front of it."
