TOBY'S GOT 50 MILLION REASONS TO SMILE

He's better-known as a singer, but Toby Keith is a big dog when it comes to songwriting, too.

Toby Keith joined some elite company recently when he reached the 50 millionth performance airplay milestone for his songs, a feat only a handful of other songwriters—John Lennon, Elton John, Barry Gibb and Kenneth "Babyface" Edmonds—had achieved before him. To celebrate the big day, Toby's having a press conference on Tuesday, Feb. 27, at the Nashville office of BMI. Want some idea of how long it takes to play 50 million spins? Since 1993, Toby's songs have been heard on the airwaves for approximately 2,500,000 hours.
