Toby Won’t Attend CMA Awards

Toby Keith says he won’t attend the Nov. 7 Country Music Association Awards because he feels the organization has repeatedly snubbed him.

"I'm done with it, but I tried to keep that quiet,” he told Nashville newspaper The Tennessean. “I don't want this to be sour grapes.” Out of 27 nominations, Toby has won only two CMA trophies. "The very same two years I swept through the [Academy of Country Music Awards] and had Entertainer of the Year twice,” he said, “I was sitting on the front of the CMAs getting zero. . . . It just makes you question the integrity of a system where the person who has the biggest year and is most nominated and has outperformed and been the No. 1 ticket seller, which I was in that time, to walk out zero for 16."
