TOBY SOLDIERS ON IN SPITE OF HEARTBREAK

Check out the current issue of Rolling Stone to find out how Toby Keith got through the horrific day his father died unexpectedly in 2001. Toby was already booked to play a show in Wisconsin. "It was a no-brainer," says Toby of his decision to play the show instead of canceling. "My dad would've disowned me. He used to come out with us so much, he was like our mascot. Everyone in the band was falling apart. I said, 'I've got time to grieve at home. We're thirty minutes from going on with a house full of people. He knows there's nothing we can do for him now.' We sucked it up and went on."
