TOBY LEGISLATES

Toby Keith is not only a country star - he's also well-known in the world of horse breeding and raises quarter horses and thoroughbreds for racing. The Oklahoma native has more than 150 horses on ranches in Norman and Purcell, Okla. Last Wednesday, Toby gave his two cents on the floor of the Oklahoma Senate as legislators debated letting some horse racetracks operate electronic games - a decision that, if passed, would bring more than 70 million to the state. "Like everyone else in this state, I care about Oklahoma's future and the education of our children," said Toby. "By approving this legislation, we can reclaim our state's horse industry and boost our public schools." Toby's speech must have worked -- after his visit, senators voted 30-to-18 to approve the measure.
