About five years ago, Toby Keith got the urge to get a little edgier with his music. However, the record label he was signed with was not exactly on the same page.

"The record label I was on at the time was more conservative as far as what they'll let you do musically," he explains.

For example, Toby knew he had a hit with his song, "You Ain't Much Fun Since I Quit Drinking." When he started playing it live in front of crowds, he got an immediate and enthusiastic response. Soon after, radio stations were contacting the label to release the song as a single. It was released eventually, went to #2 on the charts and stayed there for three weeks.

Although he holds no grudge with the former label, he has found more creative freedom with his current label, DreamWorks/Nashville. He has been able to push the envelope a little farther with his songs "How Do You Like Me Now?!" and "I'm Just Talkin' About Tonight."

"I know what I like and I know what my audience wants," says Toby.
