TIM'S STEPFATHER PASSES AWAY
Condolences are in order for Tim McGraw, who lost his stepfather, Horace Smith, this past Sunday, Jan. 22, in West Monroe, La.
Mr. Smith had been in failing health for some time. He was the first father figure Tim could ever remember, and in fact, Tim went by the name "Tim Smith" until he discovered that his birth father was baseball star Tug McGraw. Tim has always credited his stepdad for instilling the love of country music in him.
The McGraw family "appreciates everyone's prayers in this very personal moment."
