Dawn Sears, female vocalist for western swing band The Time Jumpers, has been diagnosed with cancer. The golden-voiced singer was notably absent when Country Weekly attended the Grammy-nominated group's regular Monday-night performance at 3rd and Lindsley in Nashville this week. Time Jumpers member Vince Gill, who also featured Dawn in his touring band, remarked to the crowd that she was home "fighting hard."

Diagnosed with Stage 3B lung cancer, Dawn is currently undergoing treatment in Nashville and intends to continue performing every Monday night with The Time Jumpers as her treatment allows.

Dawn is married to Time Jumpers band leader and fiddle virtuoso Kenny Sears.

We at Country Weekly are keeping Dawn in our prayers.
