Tim McGraw and Faith Hill welcomed 300 invited guests to the Nashville premiere of his upcoming movie Flicka, Tuesday night, Oct. 10, at the historic Belcourt Theatre.

The couple avoided the usual Hollywood-style trappings and made it an informal event. Tim, sporting a Boston Red Sox baseball cap, and Faith, wearing a light brown top and blue jeans, grabbed seats in the back of the Belcourt Theatre, and munched on popcorn, candy and bottled water. Flicka is based on the classic children’s story My Friend Flicka. “It’s a very good movie,” Faith said to a friend sitting nearby. “It’ll make you cry.” Several sniffles, in fact, could be heard during Tim’s touching scene with his daughter, played by Alison Lohman, as she battles a dangerously high fever. Fans cheered and gave Tim a standing ovation as the closing credits rolled. Tim and Faith led the applause for the pre-movie musical sets turned in by The Warren Brothers, Holly Williams, Tim’s niece Catherine Raney and Tim’s band the Dancehall Doctors, who all have songs on the movie soundtrack. Top Music Row songwriter Tom Douglas also performed “My Little Girl,” which he co-wrote with Tim for the movie.
