Tim’s New Movie Has a Great First Weekend

He’s as good picking film roles as he is picking hit songs.

Tim McGraw's cameo appearance as a distraught husband whose wife was killed in a Saudi Arabia terrorist attack in the new movie The Kingdom was seen by a lot of people over the weekend as the drama took in $17 million, ranking it second among new feature releases. As Tim told AOL online, "I play a husband whose wife is killed in a suicide bomber attack. I only had a couple scenes because I was working so hard, I had to fit it in. But it was pretty intense." That makes three Top 5 debuts for Tim—2006's Flicka came in at No. 5 and 2004's Friday Night Lights came in at No. 2. Congrats, Tim.
