Thomas Rhett Celebrates Back-to-Back No. 1 Hits

“Crash and Burn” and “Die a Happy Man” are two great reasons to party.

Thomas Rhett had two reasons to celebrate on Monday evening (Feb. 22)—both of his 2015 singles, “Crash and Burn” and “Die a Happy Man,” hit No. 1 on Billboard’s Country Airplay chart during the previous months.

The double No. 1 party took place at Nashville’s casual Bartaco, where TR and his wife are frequent patrons. Attended by family, friends and industry insiders, the night featured the couple’s favorite dishes, including duck and pork belly tacos, chips with guacamole and fried plantains.

Thomas Rhett, along with songwriters Sean Douglas and Joe Spargur, both in attendance, co-wrote his six-week No. 1 hit, “Die a Happy Man,” while Jesse Frasure and Chris Stapleton co-wrote “Crash and Burn.”

Chris was unable to attend the ceremony, but both Thomas Rhett and Jesse sang his praises, with TR adding that he’s “so thankful Chris let me record that song.”

“To have a No. 1 song is amazing, but for ‘Die a Happy Man’ to sit [at No. 1] for that long is truly incredible,” TR said to Nash Country Weekly. “It’s hard to even think about it without getting gooey inside. It’s really special.”
