There’s a Reason Keith Didn’t Name His Cologne After Himself

Keith Urban tries to protect men from awkward moments.

Tim McGraw's cologne is called "McGraw." Beyonce's perfume is "Beyonce Heat." Jessica Simpson has a few fragrances, and the names all start with her name.

But Keith Urban wants no part  of a self-named cologne, for an interesting reason, he recently told an Australian radio show.

"It’s kind of weird," he said. "If a guy was wearing something that smells really great—‘What are you wearing?'—the guy had to say, 'Well, I’m  wearing Keith Urban.' It’d be weird."

Of course, Keith's not at all bashful about being in a weird—and really funny—cologne spoof ad with Ellen DeGeneres. You might recall that Ellen had her hands all over Keith in that fake commercial.

“And you know you’re the only woman on the planet that would be OK with my wife [Nicole Kidman]!” said Keith after the showing of the video.
